Hi everyone
The most difficult thing about abuse is not the betrayal -even though that is a bitter pill - it is the loss of self-trust
After all, if you were trustworthy then the abuse would not have happened right?l WRONG. Others chose to do wicked things either by acting or omission...so we need to stop blaming ourselves and believing we are somehow no longer trustworthy
I wish I knew how to lose the distrust of myself, to regain that sense that my actions were trustworthy and in my best interests
I've tried radical acceptance, making small decisions and talking myself through the outcome - hoping that each small victory would ease this burden.Nothing seems to ever get through the belief that I am bad/broken/deserving of punishment and misery
If anyone has managed any small or large victory please share
